Wages paid for labor helps increase consumer spending and is essential for companies. Unemployed workers represent wasted potential inside an economy. Unemployment arises when factors of production that are willing and able to produce goods and services are not actively engaged in production. Unemployment means that the economy isn’t meeting its goal of full employment. There are four basic causes for unemployment in a working economy. These reasons are: minimum wage lages, labor unions, efficiency wages, and job search. The labor market is just like any other market. If there are a lot of unemployed workers who want jobs, the price of labor will drop until all that force is employed. In order to keep a certain standard of living, the government implements a minimum wage. However, raising the minimum wage can increase unemployment. The second reason for unemployment is based on efficiency wages. Firms benefit by paying their workers above the minimum wage so they can produce happier, healthier, and more productive workers. In turn, more people want to work for that position than there are actually seats for that position. Therefore, efficiency wages can increase the wages for workers who are employed but increase overall unemployment. Job search isn’t similar to the other causes of unemployment. Do Child Predators Really Represent Imminent Danger? The last years have seen an ever-increasing surge of indignation on the part of society in what concerns the so-called â€Å"child predators†, mostly in connection with the Internet. It is supposed to mean that the introduction of new technologies makes it easier for child predators to track their victims. But, to tell the truth, the public opinion on this subject looks more and more like a mass hysteria. Child predators are undoubtedly disgusting people, but is it credible that there are thousands of them creeping behind every corner, waiting to grab an unsuspecting child at any moment? Do new technologies really change anything? Google Street View is usually mentioned there, said to giving the predator a possibility to see your child playing in the backyard or notice the position of your bedroom windows and suchlike. Couldn’t he do it without it? Again and again one can see the recommendations for parents on the Internet, describing how one can distinguish a child predator from a usual person, and these tips would have been really funny if they weren’t so frightening. A child predator, they tend to say, is an overly nice person, appearing to like children, extremely polite and likable. Does it mean that every polite person is automatically put on the suspects list? Or that in order to avoid being suspected you should heap unprintable words on every old lady you encounter in the street? Let alone the fact that accusation of pedophilia is an extremely convenient measure of influence. Virtually anyone may be accused and become an outcast among our hysterical society even if all the evidence contradicts this charge. No one doubts, of course, that the phenomenon of child predators exists and represents certain danger. But this danger seems to be overestimated by far.

The death of Antigone is truly a tragic episode in the Theban Plays, where she hung herself with a woven linen of her dress. By convention, her death would be characterized with feminine quality. However, Antigone, one of the few female characters in the book, possessed distinguishable female characteristics that are as remarkable as a male hero. Antigone was determined when she made up her mind to bury her brother. She was an agent of her words and took up the risks that accompanied to her deeds. Antigone was very passionate from the beginning to her death and she displayed tremendous courage when facing the death penalty. Moreover, Antigone, as a female individual, confronted bravely with the state and the authority of Creon. Sophocles used a maternal image to describe how Antigone conducted the ritual of burial. Antigone was compared to a mother bird as she found out her babies were gone. This intense and explosive anger characterized the mental state of Antigone when she was burying her brother. Unlike a male who would seek for revenge, Antigone, as a female character, screamed and cursed to defend her beliefs and to protest her respect to the death. Though Antigone’s physical strength was small, her moral strength, in regard to how the living should respect the dead, was powerful. This moral strength, accompanied by her action, demonstrated Sohpocles’ perspective that women can make life happens despite they lack the physical strength of men. Antigone was courageous because she knew the penalty for disobeying the order and the forthcoming death. â€Å"And if I die for it, what happiness!† (Sophocles 128). Antigone showed tremendous courage when facing the death penalty. She knew that the enforcement of divine law is honorable and the state law cannot overrun the divine principle.
